Simulations of Cosmic Chemical Enrichment with Hypernova

چکیده

We simulate cosmic chemical enrichment with a hydrodynamical model including supernova and hypernova feedback. We find that the majority of stars in present-day massive galaxies formed in much smaller galaxies at high redshifts, despite their late assembly times. The hypernova feedback drives galactic outflows efficiently in low mass galaxies, and these winds eject heavy elements into the intergalactic medium. The ejected baryon fraction is larger for less massive galaxies, correlates well with stellar metallicity. The observed massmetallicity relation is well reproduced as a result of the mass-dependent galactic winds. We also predict the cosmic supernova and gamma-ray burst rate histories.

Chemo-dynamical simulations of galaxies

We simulate the formation and evolution of galaxies with a self-consistent 3D hydrodynamical model including star formation, supernova feedback, and chemical enrichment. Hypernova feedback plays an essential role not only in solving the [Zn/Fe] problem, but also reproducing the cosmic star formation rate history and the mass-metallicity relations. In a MilkyWay type galaxy, kinematics and chemi...

Simulations of Cosmic Chemical Enrichment

Using a new numerical model for cosmic chemical evolution, we study the influence of hypernova feedback on the star formation and metal enrichment history of the universe. For assumptions which produce plausible results in idealized collapse models of individual galaxies, our cosmological simulations of the standard ΛCDM cosmology show a peak of the cosmic star formation rate at z ∼ 4, with ∼ 1...

Chemodynamical Simulations of Galaxies and the Universe

We simulate the formation and evolution of galaxies with a hydrodynamical model including star fromation, supernova feedback, and chemical enrichment. From the comparison with observed elemental abundances, we study the evolution of galaxies and the origin of heavy elements (Galactic Archaeology). A large fraction of hypernovae is required from the observed abundance ratios in the Milky Way Gal...

Chemodynamical simulations with variable IMF

Using self-consistent chemodynamical simulations including star formation, supernova feedback, and chemical enrichment, I show the dependence of cosmic star formation and chemical enrichment histories on the initial mass function (IMF). The effects of Pop-III IMF can be only seen in the elemental abundance ratios at z > ∼ 4 or [Fe/H] < ∼ −2. The preferable IMF has a flatter slope in the case of...

Chemical enrichment of galaxy clusters from hydrodynamical simulations

We present cosmological hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy clusters aimed at studying the process of metal enrichment of the intra–cluster medium (ICM). These simulations have been performed by implementing a detailed model of chemical evolution in the Tree-SPH GADGET-2 code. This model allows us to follow the metal release from SNII, SNIa and AGB stars, by properly accounting for the lifetim...
